Quinoa or “the golden grain of Los Andes” has been cultivated in the highest regions of Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia for more than 5,000 years. This crop (pronounced KEEN-WAH) was once considered by the Inca’s as the ”chisaya mama” or “mother grain” and revered as sacred.
Nowadays, scientists consider quinoa a super food for its high protein content with at least 10 essential amino acids.
